Re: footpaths

Has anybody any news on 2 new possible footpaths at the North end of culcheth hall drive? I've not. Where have you heard this? The "circle" at the top (North End) of Culcheth Hall Drive is surrounded by houses and their gardens (unless I'm mistaken). Where would the footpaths go? and why?...

Re: Flat roof houses

I understand they were built for the employees at the Armaments Factory at Risley in World War 2.
Therefore they were built circa 1942ish.
Timber was needed more importantly elsewhere at the time so they were built with a Flat Concrete roof rather than a traditional pitched one.

Re: Parking at Lodge Drive

Thanks Dazza. I have a vision of some sleazy blokes hanging around the area for 16 hours or more in case they catch any so called culprits. It still doesn't add up to me. The Parking Attendants will have to be paid. Most people sensibly don't seem to be paying the fines. If the owners are so desper...

Re: Parking at Lodge Drive

Ignore until/if (big if) you get actual court papers, Not a letter of intent, actual court papers (check with the court that they have been lodged). I bet you won't receive them, on the off chance you do, get back to me. As I posted earlier, see ANPR Ltd on PEPIPOO. Don't worry. I have told people b...

Re: Parking at Lodge Drive

It will probably be a reference to the Bulk Centre.
Google 'pepipoo anpr ltd'
Google 'Northampton bulk centre'
Think about a defence maybe, ie no contract, no loss to the owner, crap signs, no lighting etc (but you probably won't need it).
Keep Chequebook well closed for now.

Re: Parking at Lodge Drive

Re: Parking at Lodge Drive

Vera, Don't worry. The debt collection firm letter comes from the next desk to the original letter. The 'Solicitor' will be the next desk to that. Don't bother Citizens Advice over this one. Remember, CAPITAL LETTERS, RED INK, don't mean a thing in Law. A debt collector sounds tough but has no power...

Re: Glebeland/Little London

Janet H, It used to be the site of some of the United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority Research Labs, hence contained nuclear materials. Anyone who works/has worked in the Nuclear Industry, when telling a stranger who they worked for would invariably get asked as a first question "Do you glow in...

Re: Glebeland/Little London

The nuclear labs were decommissioned and demolished in the early 1990s (not sure of exact year).
There are now a lot of houses on the site and the road onto it is affectionatly referred to as 'Glowworm Avenue'.

Re: Parking at Lodge Drive

Apologies, I thought I had replied to an earlier thread but I must have missed an action to post succesfully. But, here's a link to ticket. http://www.oxforddictionaries.com/definition/english/ticket?q=ticket As you can see it can mean a lot of different things. When I refer to these things as Specu...

Re: Parking at Lodge Drive

Sorry, bit of a long post below but:- Condor said - Sparky may be equally disparaging about the BPA, but it is at present the only Government Accredited Trade Association. Actually it's - British Parking Association (the unregulated trade association for such companies). POPLAs rubbish as I said, ju...

Re: Parking at Lodge Drive

This is all really rather ridiculous, the parking is for the shops which are privately owned. People park illegally get fined and it's the end of the world, it's well sign posted there are plenty of other areas to park legally including the pay and display behind the Cherry. Wheel clamping isn't an...

Re: Parking at Lodge Drive

I was served with a parking charge notice in December. I contacted WBC who suggested I contact Trading Standards, which I have done. Whatever the ethics of the situation are there is no denying that the signs are FACTUALLY INCORRECT. Karen, It's nothing to do with the Council, It's private land and...

Re: Parking at Lodge Drive

Please can anyone tell me if they have had a court summons/bailiffs after ignoring correspondence from anpr? Let me take a stab at this one from everyone one this forum and most of the UK, NO! Where have you been anpr'd? (Not that it matters, anpr, invoice on windscreen, it's all the same). Also, b...

Re: Hurrah! Another restaurant?

Doesn't look like Cibo will re-open any time soon.
There's not a stick of furniture in the place, just a lonely looking Christmas Tree in the corner.

Re: Parking at Lodge Drive

My wife and I visited Culcheth on Saturday night to take my daughter for a meal at Don Luigis for her 16th birthday. We parked on the car park near the Park, which in all tense and purpose looks like it belongs to the village the park and the council. to our astonishment we got a Penalty charge not...
